Reaching the Lost, Teaching the Found

United Methodist Women

At each UMW meeting, we are surrounded by a community of the ‘willing’! No one is there because she is required to be there. We gather because we need each other and because our community needs us! We learn about how Jesus is present in us and about how we can lower the barriers that we erect between us and God and between us and the community that God loves. At Lowell, we meet the third Sunday afternoon of each month at 4:00 p.m. Cathy Hearn is our president in 2011. At each meeting, we lift up prayers and concerns, hear a short inspirational program, have a treasurer’s report, then discuss or work on the current projects. Sometimes, we invite a speaker from one of the several programs we support.
There are no dues, but we have a ‘basket’ for any donations. Our funds are derived from the sale of Rada products (primarily knives), Happy Home flavoring, and the sale of cookbooks. Periodically we’ve had yard sales, bake sales, and yes, we’ve even had a barbeque or two.
By virtue of attending Lowell UMC, being female, you’re already a member and we thank you for your continued support. Some of the projects: Easter Egg Hunt, Shelter packs for Domestic Violence Center, Operation Christmas Child, Angel Tree, paper goods drive for Shelter, food drive for Soup Kitchen, and donations to help community members.

We will be needing supplies for our shelter packs, please click here to see a list of needed items.
